Is this the right kind of care?

If any of these sound familiar, this service is probably the right fit:

  • Dinner has become toast, cereal, or nothing at all
  • The refrigerator holds more expired food than fresh food
  • Laundry, dishes, and clutter are piling up in a home that used to be tidy
  • Loose clothes, or a doctor has mentioned weight loss or poor nutrition
  • Your own weekends are spent cooking and cleaning for two households

What meal preparation includes

Skipped meals rarely look dramatic. They look like toast for dinner, coffee for breakfast, and a slow slide in energy and weight. A caregiver turns mealtimes back into real meals — cooked in your parent's own kitchen, to your parent's own taste.

  • Cooking hot meals — breakfast, lunch, or dinner made fresh, following any written dietary guidance from the family or doctor
  • Meal planning and prep-ahead — batch-cooking labeled meals for the days between visits
  • Company at the table — sitting and eating together, because most people eat more when they are not eating alone
  • Grocery shopping — shopping from a list, putting food away, and clearing out what has expired
  • Hydration reminders — gentle prompts to drink water through the visit

What light housekeeping includes

Housekeeping visits focus on the rooms your parent lives in: dishes and counters, laundry and fresh bed linens, bathroom wipe-downs, trash, and — just as important — keeping floors and walkways clear of the clutter and cords that cause trips. A tidy path from bed to bathroom matters more than a spotless guest room.

What this service does not include

We are a non-medical Personal Assistance Services agency, Texas license #020448. Our caregivers are not a maid service and not a medical team. They do not do deep cleaning, windows, gutters, or heavy lifting, and they do not design therapeutic diets, manage tube feeding, or provide any care that requires a nurse. If a doctor has ordered skilled nursing or a dietitian, we work alongside those professionals — we cover the daily cooking and keeping-house they do not.

How families set it up

Start with a free in-home assessment. Many families begin with a few afternoon visits a week — dinner cooked, dishes done, laundry moving, meals prepped ahead in one trip — then adjust as they learn what helps. We match the caregiver, schedules can be adjusted as needs change, and care can often start within 24 hours.

How care starts

  1. Call us Tell us what happened and what you’re worried about. We’ll tell you honestly if this service fits.
  2. Free in-home assessment We meet your loved one at home, in the hospital, or at a facility, and build a care plan together.
  3. Care begins Often within 24 hours. We match a caregiver to your loved one, and schedules can be adjusted as needs change.

What this costs

We publish our rates — most agencies don’t. Two things to know before you compare: our rate is one flat hourly rate around the clock, and it does not increase when care needs increase. There are no “levels of care” here.

Questions families ask

What counts as light housekeeping — and what does not?

Light housekeeping means the everyday tasks that keep the living areas safe and pleasant. Dishes, kitchen counters, laundry, changing bed linens, taking out trash, wiping the bathroom, and keeping walkways clear. It does not include deep cleaning, carpets, windows, gutters, yard work, or moving heavy furniture. For those, a cleaning company is the right call.

Can the caregiver cook for a special diet?

Caregivers prepare meals that follow the written guidance your family and your parent's doctor provide — low-sodium, diabetic-friendly, soft foods, and so on. We are a non-medical agency, so we do not design medical diets. We simply cook what the plan calls for, seasoned the way your parent actually likes.

Will my mother get a say in the menu?

Yes, and that is half the point. Caregivers cook with your mother when she wants to be involved, plan meals around foods she enjoys, and note what goes uneaten so the plan improves. People eat better when the food is theirs, not a delivery in a tray.

What does a typical meal visit look like?

A visit covers the whole mealtime rhythm: a hot meal cooked fresh, company at the table, dishes washed, and labeled meals prepped ahead for the days in between — often with laundry or a grocery run folded in. Our minimum visit is four hours, and every hour bills at the same flat rate.

Can visits include groceries and errands?

Yes. Caregivers can shop from a list, put groceries away, and rotate out expired food. Many families combine a weekly shopping trip with a cooking session that stocks the fridge with ready meals for the days between visits.

Both of my parents need help. Does that cost double?

No. Cooking and housekeeping for a couple happens in the same visit, and we offer a discount for couples. The rate also never rises with levels of care — if one parent later needs hands-on personal care during the same hours, the hourly price stays the same.
