The four ways families pay
Private pay is the most common. Families pay the hourly rate directly, from income, savings, or pooled family contributions. Because the rate is one flat number — days, evenings, and overnights all cost the same — a private-pay budget is easy to predict. Our minimum visit is four hours, and a four-hour morning covers a lot: bathing, breakfast, housekeeping, errands, even a ride to an appointment.
Long-term care insurance is the most underused. Millions of policies were sold in the 1990s and 2000s, and many adult children don’t know a parent owns one. These policies commonly cover non-medical home care — but the claims process stalls so many families that benefits go unclaimed. We read the policy with you, file the claim, and handle the ongoing paperwork. It’s one of the main reasons families choose us.
VA Aid & Attendance is a monthly, tax-free VA pension add-on for qualifying wartime veterans and surviving spouses who need help with daily living. Many eligible families in North Texas have never heard of it. The rules involve service dates, medical need, and financial limits — our guide walks through who tends to qualify.
Medicare is where expectations most often go wrong. Medicare generally does not pay for non-medical personal assistance — the bathing, meals, and daily help an agency like ours provides. It does cover short-term skilled home health under a doctor’s orders, which is a different service. Knowing the difference early saves families weeks of confusion.

Honest answers, even when they don’t favor us
We are a non-medical Personal Assistance Services agency, licensed by the State of Texas (License #020448). If what your parent actually needs is skilled nursing, hospice, or a benefit we can’t bill, we’ll say so and point you in the right direction. Families remember who told them the truth on a hard day — that’s the whole business model.
Whichever path fits, the numbers stay predictable here: one flat hourly rate for days, evenings, and overnights, no levels-of-care pricing so the rate never climbs as needs grow, and a couples discount when we care for both spouses in one home. There are no long-term contracts, schedules can be adjusted as needs change, and care can often start within 24 hours — while the benefit paperwork catches up in the background.
