Private pay home care that fits a real budget

Most families pay for home care out of pocket. The difference between “we can afford this” and “we can’t” usually comes down to one thing: whether the price holds still once care begins. Ours does — one flat published rate that never rises as needs grow.

Why a flat published rate changes the math

Home care budgets fall apart when the numbers are vague or the rate keeps moving. Ours do neither: we publish our rates, the same rate applies days, evenings, and overnights, and our minimum visit is four hours — enough to cover a whole morning of bathing, breakfast, housekeeping, errands, and a ride to an appointment in a single visit.

That turns care into a line item you can actually plan. At our published rate of $30–$34 per hour, here is what common starting schedules look like:

  • A four-hour morning visit, three days a week — bathing, dressing, breakfast, medication reminders, light housekeeping: about $1,560–$1,770 per month
  • Four-hour mornings, Monday–Friday — the whole morning routine handled, plus errands and meals: roughly $2,600–$2,950 per month
  • A four-hour visit every day — errands, meals, laundry, companionship, seven days a week: about $3,640–$4,125 per month

Families usually start small, watch what actually helps, and adjust. Because schedules can be adjusted as needs change, adding a Tuesday or dropping a Sunday takes a phone call, not a renegotiation. The full picture — including 20-hour, 40-hour, and around-the-clock schedules — is on our DFW cost page.

A rate that stays put

Budgets only work if the price holds still. Two of our policies exist for exactly that reason:

  • No levels-of-care pricing. Your hourly rate does not increase when your loved one's needs increase — not after a diagnosis, not after a re-assessment, not ever. What changes your monthly cost is the number of hours in the plan — and the plan can be adjusted as needs change.
  • A couples discount. When we care for both spouses in the same home, a discount applies. One caregiver, one visit, two people helped — you should not pay double, and you don’t.

No contracts, no strings

There are no long-term contracts to sign and no cancellation penalties. If your family's situation changes — a move, a hospital stay, recovery going better than expected — you change the schedule or stop. The in-home assessment and written care plan are free, and the quote you receive is the price you pay. We accept checks, ACH bank transfer, and major credit cards.

Practical ways families make the budget work

  • Split the cost among siblings. A regular schedule of visits divided two or three ways often becomes a manageable monthly line for each person. We can invoice in whatever way keeps family bookkeeping simple.
  • Target the risky hours. Most falls and skipped meals happen at predictable times — first thing in the morning and around dinner. Schedule visits around those moments so the caregiver is there when it matters most.
  • Pair paid care with family care. Many families cover weekends themselves and use us for weekday mornings, or bring us in as respite care so the family caregiver gets a real break without a big bill.
  • Plan for change, not for the worst case. Needs often shrink as a hospital recovery progresses — or grow after a new diagnosis. With no contracts and no levels-of-care re-pricing, your budget can follow reality month to month instead of locking in a worst-case number on day one.
  • Check the benefits you may already own. Before assuming everything is out of pocket, rule out a long-term care insurance policy — we handle the claim paperwork — and VA Aid & Attendance for wartime veterans and surviving spouses. And know what Medicare does and doesn’t cover so there are no surprises.

We are a non-medical Personal Assistance Services agency, licensed by the State of Texas (License #020448). If a few mornings a week with us keep your mother safe, fed, and home, we would rather sell you those mornings than a round-the-clock schedule she doesn’t need. That’s the honest version of this business — and it’s why families stay with us.

The free in-home assessment ends with a written quote — a real number your family can take to a kitchen-table conversation, not an estimate that changes once a salesperson is in the living room. And when you’re ready, care can often start within 24 hours.
